Troy Taylor

After earning BS and MS degrees in Aerospace Engineering from Penn State and the University of Pennsylvania, Troy began his professional career as an engineer working with NASA on the Manned Space Station program. His interest in art however, began during his sophomore year when he landed a summer job with Bruce McGaw graphics as a “Fine Art Poster Repair Clerk”. As his career in corporate America grew so did his passion for collecting Art. His current work in the Healthcare Industry takes him to Europe, Asia, South Africa, Japan, Latin America, India and the Middle East on a regular basis. Most of the gallery’s collection, with the addition of multicultural American art and pieces by local Atlanta artists, stems from the relationships that he has developed with artists and galleries throughout the world.

The striking, high-tech design and amenities of the gallery combine Troy’s dual interests in art and engineering. He believes that art and science are similar in that, “Like science, art is not random. There is an order to each discipline, rules of composition and technique that create a beautiful, balanced product.

Omari J. Henderson

As a “custodian of culture,” Henderson has managed to infuse his educational background, business acumen, and love of art to strike a delicate balance between his passion, personal and professional life. His love of art developed at an early age while growing up in Decatur, Georgia where he was first exposed to art through museums, galleries, and the work of his father, artist Aaron F. Henderson. While studying engineering at Tuskegee University where he obtained his BS in Chemical Engineering, he and his brother, Onaje Henderson, formed a company, Premier Art, to help manage their father’s career that has since expanded to produce other artists. No stranger to entrepreneurship, before co-founding Premier Art, Henderson started The Campus Advertiser, a buy/sell/trade newspaper, that was distributed on three different campuses, and he also started a food-delivery company all while pursuing an engineering degree.

Henderson serves on the Board of Directors of Park Pride, Kenny Leon’s True Colors Theatre, Elevate Atlanta, and the Reach Georgia Foundation. A multi-passionate entrepreneur, he also has several ventures that expand beyond the art world that both serve and give back to the community and reach back to younger generations; a responsibility that he doesn’t take lightly. Through his non-profit organization, Youth Challenge Incorporated, Henderson mentors’ young men to become the best versions of themselves, expose them to different environments and become successful leaders in society. He also is a co-founder of The Art Brother’s Foundation which educates and helps youth understand art from both a business and financial perspective.

Like the art world, Henderson’s professional life has been chock full of creativity and led to a colorful journey that has been in tandem with his love of art.  He has led at major corporations like Coca-Cola, Procter & Gamble, and Chick-fil-A Corporate in helping them manage to break into new innovative spaces working in roles from Marketing and Innovation to Research & Development. As a social engineer, the complexities of engineering are about problem-solving and Henderson has done just that by bringing his expertise to the art world thereby making it more relatable and accessible. He has seamlessly and eloquently figured out how to “engineer” the oftentimes intimidating worlds of business and art to bring it into the hearts, minds, and homes of black communities and implement change.
